A
message from USA Judo President Dr. Ron Tripp
21 September 2001
I am pleased to announce that the IMCA America U.S. Open Judo Championships
in Las Vegas on October 12-14 will continue as scheduled. The tragic
events of September 11th have impacted the world. I am encouraged
by the support we have received from the invited nations and their
correspondences reconfirming participation in Las Vegas. The continued
commitment to bring international judo to the United States during
these times of strife sends a strong message that the world judo community
will not be diverted in our continual mission of goodwill, camaraderie,
and sportsmanship.

2001
World Championships
Munich, Germany
26. July - 29. July 2001

Inoue, who once again stole the headlines. The first day promised

on display. There was also a sizeable crowd, although it did take
time to pick up throughout the day...

An
Open Letter to the American Judo Community
David Matsumoto &
Michel Brousse
On the milestone
of its 50th anniversary, we have been commissioned by the United States
Judo Federation to write a book documenting and celebrating not only
the first 50 years of the USJF, but also about the history of American
Judo. The book will be similar to the book written by us for the International
Judo Federation entitled "Judo: A Sport and A Way of Life". Tentatively,
the book will be an 8.5" x 11" hardcover and will be printed in color.
There will also be a Deluxe Edition, which will be boxed with a more
ornate cover and autographed by us...
