Well here it is, Issue 31. It never ceases to astound me that no matter
how much information I have included, Istill have to leave out so
The British Open was back to it's old character this year, with a huge
entry from foreign players. The atmosphere had returned, if you weren't
able to get to it this year put it in your diary for next year, 12th 13th April.
Slovenia hosted the 2002 Europeans. The hotel for the British Team was
700m up a mountain and the normal rush and panic to get to the stadium
each day was preceded by the surreal calmness of a 15 minute cable
car ride down the mountain side! Beautiful.
The World Masters Championship in Northern Ireland was a huge event.
A great achievement for the NI Federation and proof of their excellent
organisational skills. They were a real credit to the British Judo
Association. Every body there was so helpful and took a real pleasure in
hosting so many visitors. They will be a tough act for the Japanese to
follow next year.
I would like to thank, Dr Marcel Morelli the Chiropractic Doctor at the
Masters, who took such care to sort out my back problems, I can't
recommend him highly enough, so if you are living in the Essex area and
need some professional advice give his surgery a call 01702 430430.
If you want to get your picture in the
magazine, send me a photograph ( by
email or by post) of yourself reading
the magazine in an unusual or funny
place, we'll try to include it.
I've included an article given to me by
the late Geof Glesson. Which although
it covers areas that many of us don't
normally relate to Judo, really gives
some food for thought if you take the
time to read it. I welcome feedback on
