Welcome
to The World of Judo Online!
EDITOR'S MESSAGE
Well here's the issue that I tried to get to you just before Christmas! I've
been going flat out but so much of the time it seems to have been two
steps forward - one step back. However we've finally made it and I hope
you enjoy the end result. There was so much material I was hoping to
include this time, but with limited pages available to me I've ended up
having to take out three reports and save them for future issues!
You will notice that another photographer is credited for the pictures that
accompany the Junior Nationals report - my son Jack. It's the first time for
many years that I've not been able to attend this event but unfortunately
this time it clashed with the Pan American Games which, as the IJF
photographer, I am contractually obliged to attend. When Jack volunteered
to take pictures for me I decided to take him up on his offer and I think he
did a pretty good job for a beginner, (That's ma' boy!)
I'd like to take a moment to thank some of the people who help me with
regular information in the magazine in particular Malcolm Limmrick who is
always so efficient sending me through lists of results after major British
events and Peter Holme who sends me the Ranking lists. Jim Somerville
sends me the lists of new Dan Grades. Julie at head office also does a great
job dealing with all the magazine subscriptions - no mean feat . And there
are many others who contribute regularly so my thanks go to you all.
Keep up the good work!
Well I'll leave you to get on with the serious business of enjoying all the
photos and seeing how many spelling mistakes my trusty proof reader has
missed. I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and please keep me up to
date with any interesting judo news during 2003.
